Exploring Brow Treatments for Clients
When discussing which brow treatment is best for your client, you need to consider a few factors when making your decision.
Whether its fluffier, darker, bolder, or fuller brows this can all be big business for your salon. But how do you know what is best for your client and what new treatments we can add to your menu to keep you current and add revenue to your business?
Let’s start with the basics, it’s all about what your clients goal is; all whilst managing their expectations. What’s bold or dark for you, will be very different for a first time or conservative client. Generally speaking, if you are in the brow game- you live and breathe brows and they have booked your time because they like your style.
Consultation is key, ask them about their brow goals, if it’s a first time client theres a good chance they may not understand the difference in the options on your treatment menu.
When adding colour to the brows, you have many options to achieve what you need based on your clients goals.
Here is a brief breakdown of our biggest selling options:
-Classic tint
Tint is the old faithful, it is what most people think of when we say brow treatments.
Tint is designed to colour the hair and is concidered to be semi permanent as it fades out of the hair.
Tried and true brands have come along way over the years and have significantly changed the brow game! Brands have introduced colours like violet, red and graphite into their ranges to give you the option to custom blend depending on your client and their natural features.
-Dye
Newer to the brow game, this product is designed to colour the hair, stain the skin and grow out over time on some skin types.
Dyes have a very different application to both henna and tint and is applied a lot thinner.
Dyes have been the biggest game changer to the brow industry, with a large spectrum of colours to mix and create with. Even for an experienced brow specialist we always recommend training.
-Henna
This is your naturally derived product, sourced from powdered leaves of the Lawsonia Inermis plant. Most hennas have natural properties to strengthen and condition the hair. They have been refined and have had other ingredients added to improve their efficiency.
Not only does henna coat the hair, it leaves a powdered finish on the skin which helps to fill gaps in the brow.
-Lamination
Adds a lift to those brows! This treatment is so hot right now, and involves straightening the brow hairs to add symmetry or change the pattern of how the hair sits. Great for unruly brows and can help to fill in gaps. Lamination itself is a 2 part process, a brow lift cream is applied first to soften the hair and allows you to move and reposition the hair. Followed by the neutralising cream to restore the hair structure and set the new placement.
For more information, we are always here and happy to help with product knowledge but we always recommend our up-skill training workshops. Brow classes are offered at Ultimate Salon Supplies regularly and our trainer is just obsessed with brows.
So trust that you are in good hands with someone who lives and breathes brows from tinting to tattooing -just like you!
